A JOURNEY FROM HERE TO SOMEWHERE
‘To where do you travel?’
I’ll know when I arrive.
‘And, when you arrive, is that the end of your journey?’
By no means. Upon arrival at my next destined point, more choices await. Several potential paths will appear. I will chose one.
‘How do you know the one you chose is the right path for you?’
There are no wrong paths. I just intuitively chose one. There will always be new information to gather, new experiences to enjoy.
‘How long does this go on?’
It appears to end when this wonderful body I have been loaned wears out. That is called death. But then, only the used container remains behind, and I continue my journey of adventure in a new body, perhaps similar to the one in which I now travel, perhaps entirely new. I am given to understand that new body will be more free and mobile, capable of exploration I can not now imagine. There is no end to the adventure.
This recalls to mind the evidence of a new body presented in The Shroud that is said to depict the image of Jesus upon his resurrection. As a scientist and lawyer, I am familiar with evidence, and the evidence contained in the Shroud is overwhelming, beyond a reasonable doubt, in legal terms.
The Shroud chose a piece to be dated which is not representative of its true age. The purpose for this choice is to prevent some from making it an idol, which it is not, and will not be.
