Are responses to Medium Articles deemed “genuine” only if they support the theme of the article? Not at all. A principal theme of Medium is to stimulate discussion in form of dialectic.
This discussion regarding the meaning and applications of reductionism is, as said by Martin, another foolish argument founded upon materialism, which is rapidly crumbling. Therefore, no offense to our principal author intended, but this, I think, is much ado about very little.
Fortunately, science on it’s cutting edge is rapidly moving past materialism, unknowingly following Tesla’s insight. We are now in a new paradigm for science in general, physics in particular. Out of considerable respect for our author, I must say he has spent considerable time and thought producing this interesting analysis of reductionism. It does play a role in science, but it is fading from centrality as we speak.
I thank our author for stimulating this discussion, but you can see I have no vested interest in it while others clearly do.
