ASSESSMENT OF THE SITUATION 2.0

IT CONTINUES TO DETERIORATE

I have put off this writing as long as I can. the state of our Union is rotting on the vine. I am essentially an optimist, so this writing is doubly difficult.

There are occasions when realism overwhelms optimism, and the sound is of the echos of cynicism. When cynicism describes reality, is it still cynicism? Yes, because it regrettably has become an accurate portrayal of reality.

I will address the state of our nation by exploring our political circumstances and the impact they have on our society.

Democrats: I will quickly, for now, sum up my attitude toward our one remaining political party with a quote from Will Rogers: “I do not belong to an organized political party. I am a Democrat”.

Republican GOP: It no longer exists. It is dead and buried. It was murdered by Donald Trump and his army, too many to name, but an descriptive example is Steve Bannon.

These people falsely call themselves “conservatives”. They are not. I call them pseudo-cons. They are radicals seeking to change everything about American life, beginning with the destruction of the term “United States”, and the government upon which it stood.

Yes, “stood”. Our nation is not “united”. It has been rent down the middle by the radicals in their mindless march toward dictatorship (now called “autocracy”). If their current leader continues to lead them, and forces his way into power, he will declare the former…
