AWARENESS OF PRESENCE

IS IT REAL?

Or, am I just making up this sensation? Am I in my desire to experience, to know the “Other”, simply fantasizing that beyond my sensory abilities a sentient other is present with me now, one we might call a “spirit”?

Many speak of many presences with us at all times. Are they dreaming? Have I ever really sensed the presence here and now of a spirit? I have often imagined it, but is it only imagination? Judge by the fruit it bears.

My bias is to want to believe there are always spirits, angels, whatever, with us at all times, but there are also times I don’t want any “knower” observing my thoughts, feelings, actions, times when I want privacy. So, my bias is conflicted to some degree, but not yet to a cognitive dissonance.

It seems I want to be able to call on the presence of a trustworthy “knower” for advice and guidance, and then thank him/her/them, and dismiss. Come when I need you, then go do something else. Problem, I need guidance all the freaking time, perhaps especially when I don’t think I need it.

Like, right now. If I write my thoughts, I want them to be worth thinking and sharing. That confidence requires a little guidance.
