TO HAVE COURAGE FOR INTEGRITY

We are not designed for weakness, or cowardliness.

I found today the courage to admit that I am my best friend. I hear the echo of egocentricity, even schizoid tendencies. Were I not fully conscious of my thoughts and feelings, these accusations might hold. I am conscious.

I am the only one with a prayer of beginning to understand me. “I”, “me” — yes, ego talking to itself, but doing so knowingly. This implies at least two shades of ego, “upper” and “lower”. All any of think and feel is filtered through and spoken by ego.

I know the other names for these two aspects of ego. I chose “upper and lower”. These two shades are producing an interesting dialogue. There are possibly others. Two is all I can handle now. I think “soul” informs the “upper” ego, but it is still ego.

I yield to no human or group of humans, be they a religious or a political group. I’ll not be instructed how to think or feel other than by the One I call my “Owner”, who is not human. My owner is who we call “the Spirit of Truth”, or “Holy Spirit”, a title for which I do not care. There is nothing “holy” about this man.

I am not ashamed of being a man, designed for strength by our Maker. The Source does not produce weak or worthless creatures. Remember, my friend, this includes you and us all.

It is time for us to recognize and confess our true nature, and live it out. Talk is of little value. Action is the only value here…
