EVERY MOMENT

THAT IS ALL THERE IS

So often over millennia we have been reminded of the Eternal Now, now as the only moment extant, yet it includes all of time past and future. Due to our necessary orientation in the human conceit of linear time which allows us to function in this 3D dream, we find grasping the Eternal Now extremely difficult.

We can intellectually imagine its reality and refer to it abstractly, but our ability to “know” Eternal Now in real terms is extremely limited due to our fixation on cause and effect and linear time.

I’ve often written about this subject in my efforts to know it more fully. This vital concept remains for me largely academic, yet knowing the truth of it I am compelled to continue in my quest to grasp it in some relatively continuous manner.

Eckart Tolle’s great book “The Power of Now” tends to rationally focus us on the Eternal Now in a manner that helps it seem more accessible. The greatest thinkers from Lao-tzu to Marcus Aurelius to Albert Einstein all have reminded us of the reality of Eternal Now. We “know of it” yet generally fail to grasp it.

That’s ok. Whether or not we grasp it, it is an ultimate reality upon which we are benefited to often ponder in our grasping efforts. This is like our concepts of God. The reality of the Supreme Mind, the ultimate eternal Source in no way depends upon our understanding or acceptance. It simply is.
