FEAR OF ECSTASY

WHY?

The Source of all we title “God” created it out of themselves, He and She together.

Yet, due largely I think to the heretical, nonsensical, near insane attitudes promulgated by the religious institutions of Judaism and Christianity regarding sexual enjoyment, many people are programed with mental illness regarding sex. Guilt is overwhelming, and inappropriate.

I speak of “ecstasy” and leap to sex because sexual activity is where most of us experience as close as we can get to ecstasy.

Is there any other source for what can be called ecstasy? Difficult as it is for some of us (me) to imagine any experience that can compete with sexual ecstasy, I must answer, “YES, there is at least one more source.”

Only of late have I begun to glimpse that other source, yet while sex continues to maintain its power for me. At age 85, that may seem remarkable to some. I stay in good shape, practice monolithic Tantra, Qigong, Tai Chi, several forms of Yoga, keep a positive attitude, and know by experience what Bruce Lee meant when he spoke of “dry land swimming”. There is remarkable power in these disciplines.

Some are now saying, “Stop the bragging”. OK.

Therefore, when I speak of another source of ecstatic experience, this is not a dried up old man searching for a substitute for absent sex. The other source is available to all ages. The only role I see age playing in these increasing glimpses of the other source of ecstasy is perhaps a…
