FROM SURVIVAL TO THRIVING
THE ROLE OF LIFE FORCE ENGAGEMENT
We see our society struggling merely to survive as a viable community with stable government and citizen responsibility.
In our hearts we know there is more to this life than mere survival. I just coined a new word. It is “thrival”.
Survival must produce thrival for us all.
In our efforts and hopes to thrive, we ask the question, “What holds us back?”
Relying heavily on Paul Wildish in his seminal book of the year 2000, “The Book of Ch’i”, I have thoughts resurface from my first reading 20 years ago. I must now express them.
I do what I can to avoid naked plagiarism. This is not easy, since Paul’s thoughts are mine as well. When I use his words as written, I place them in quotes.

What do we seek from ourselves, other citizens, and especially our government? We strive for, and seek to require “…moral integrity, humanitarian concern, and a broad appreciation of spiritual values…” in all our interactions.
There is no basis for us to seek from others qualities we ourselves do not possess. So, positive endeavor toward thrival begins at home. Beginning there, it will spread. We get the government we deserve. This tells us well what the current condition of our citizenry is. Only you and I can correct our unfortunate condition. Our culture is spiritually deprived.
