Honest skepticism, not used as a cover for simple disbelief, is a good thing. Keep it.
As I’ve said before, although belief, faith can be very important to some of us at some stage of our growth, I’m not a fan. For me it is most important to gather sufficient credible facts to form a usable operating hypothesis and apply it for guidance, avoiding both belief and conclusion. For instance, I don’t “believe “ in ghosts. I know their reality through personal experience and credible evidence from others I know very well.
Until strong new evidence comes to me requiring I rethink this hypothesis I will continue to operate by it as if it were “knowing”. Conclusions close our minds to new evidence. I avoid them.
