I appreciate your open exploration of the role played by Judas. I see Judas as a most trusted friend of Jesus whom he chose to play the necessary role he did in order for Jesus' plan to be fulfilled. Jesus knew very well what Judas had to do, I think because he assigned him, as trusted friend, to play that terrible role. At the last supper, as you recall, Jesus instructed Judas to "Go and do what you have to do". And he did, knowing full well, I think, the consequences.

The gospel of Judas, as "scholars" see it was written well after his death. I think it expresses the thinking of a number of Jesus followers at that time.

I consider Judas as my friend, as he was/is for Jesus.

I see no way in hell that he is condemned for his faithful actions.

Thank you for laying out some meaningful thoughts as you have. Keep it up, as I follow.
