I have read only your first well stated, honest paragraph, but I need to comment before reading the rest of your comments, which I will do.
First, we need to define “alien”. I prefer the term “non human intelligence”. The evidence seems very heavily weighted favoring the presence in our environment of highly evolved non human intelligence of an unknown sort, from an unknown location, for unknown purposes.
Also, it seems to me factually undeniable that this intelligence produces the interesting combination of highly advanced material implements (“ships”) and psychic/ spiritual implications of profound but unknown meaning.
Since we are dealing with a great mystery, not much of anything regarding nature of, source, and purpose can be ruled out, but factual reality of this mystery is, for me, undeniable.
Re source, more reasonable considerations are now being proffered regarding possibilities of time traveling human progeny, other dimensional travelers, an unknown local source, and even still visitors from other cosmic lactations. Nothing can be ruled out. David Grusch and others present believable evidence of reverse engineering of their implements.
