In this exploration for our truth in which you, I, and so many others search, we deal with many deep concepts for which our language is generally poorly prepared to deal with. And, some of us are much more literate than others. I seek not to lock myself down too tightly to my personal definitions, and the concepts of feeling and emotions are a good example.
I tend to see feelings as more subtle, nuanced, and even vulnerable, while emotion is more energized and tends to be more associated with a closed mind, more quickly lending itself to negativity. In this sense, I see feelings more associated with intuition than thought, along the lines of what I think White Feather is saying.
At any rate, most of us have no clear distinction between feeling and emotion. I think it good that we follow your lead into analyzing both and how they impact us.
For me, I must distinguish between faith and belief vs. knowing. I see knowing as the step beyond faith and belief to a position of high probability, or “current operating hypothesis”, but not final certainty vs. the “hope for” involved with faith and belief.
