I realize that my personal, provincial experience growing up in a tough elementary school populated by bullies and the bullied had considerable influence in shaping my ideas of “manhood”.

What entertains us? From the male standpoint (God help us) it is fucking and fighting. Obviously, the arising of the Goddess now occurring seems long overdue.

This was my teen preoccupation in a small Central Texas town. I never felt I adequately proved my manhood with either. That incomplete adolescence has haunted me all my long life, but I see I am not alone.

Neither is a rational measure of manhood. A society reveals itself through what it finds “entertaining”. Our childish society is bored by Shakespeare and classical music. We have shallow cultural roots. Our movies, TV, sports reveal our nature. Car chases, fights, shootings, violence everywhere, with interludes of vivid sex.

Ours is a society of competition, winner or looser, from sports to economics, to the bedroom.

Our cannibalistic, parasitic form of capitalism thrives on cutthroat, lying, stab-in-the-back tendencies in our drive to “succeed”. “Survival of the fittest” is not what it seems to be.

This cannot last. Our capitalism and the society it has built must fail. The “law of the jungle” does not apply to Homo sapiens sapiens.

Look at nature. Bees, ants, birds, fish, wolf packs, animal families from dogs to lions know this…
