“MOORE VS. HARPER” IN SCOTUS VS. DEMOCRACY

On July 29 I published an article entitled, “DEMOCRACY IN THE BALLANCE”. I raised a serious concern I had over a case the SCOTUS had just agreed to hear titled, “Moore vs. Harper”. The very fact they agreed to hear it caused me great concern.

In the last couple of weeks you have probably seen increasing references to this case and the profound effect it can have on our Democracy. Media light is finally being focused on the extreme danger this case poses to our freedoms.

The issue in question originally was a challenge to voting district gerrymandering. Now the central issue for the court is once more the long debunked theory of ISL, “Independent State Legislature”, which insanely proclaims that legislatures can ignore the vote of the citizens and name electors who support their favorite candidate for president. Neither the governor, nor the courts, nor any other body, possess authority to overcome this action.

This theory obliterates Democratic processes. If SCOTUS approves it, and four members have spoken about doing so, Democracy can only be saved by Congressional action. If the Republican Cult takes over the House of Representatives, Democracy is dead, dictatorship follows, Trump will claim the presidency, act as dictator, and soon proclaim himself as the first emperor of the “New American Empire”.

Just rereading this, it sounds so insane that surely it can’t be true. Unfortunately for us all, it is true. This is where…
