REGARDING ALIENS AND US

I just wrote this in response to Isiah McCall’s “Elon Musk — Earth Won’t Exist in Twelve Years”. Dan Reich properly titled this “click bait”. None the less it stimulate some thought and dialectic exchange. Here is my part:

Perhaps I am once more talking to myself. I respect your good thinking, Isiah, and your knowledge of your subject. You understand the difficulties of terraforming Mars to be as escape hatch for Homo sapiens sapiens.

None the less, I presume to present some counter thoughts.

First, the Universe need not be infinite in order to present ample room for the development of other intelligent life forms. The Universe is BIG, really BIG.

Cosmologist tell us, as they debate between themselves, of the trillions and trillions of galaxies, each with trillions of planetary systems. It is a large playing field for development of life forms.

Also, we do not know how unique our solar system is and our earth which, according to some, presents such a perfect combination of circumstance that make life inevitable, against all random odds. It is plausible that in the vast area available to work with, these same perfect circumstances are widespread, offering unnumbered opportunities for the development of sentient life forms, perhaps billions of years older than our primitive forms.

Again, not to argue, but it seems that chances for life to develop, intelligent life to develop on the planet presents not a…
