OUR CASUAL COMMENTS TELL OUR SECRETS
To speak of our world circumstances as we see them is to reveal our secret selves. That’s good. We can review what we’ve written and learn about our inner workings, if we will look carefully.
With news of world happenings hovering over us like Joe Bipfisks cloud (Li’ll Abner from many years back), we attempt to escape the darkness, and do not care to read or discuss what the dark news is telling us. But, when our comments tell us perhaps more about ourselves than about our world, we need to pay attention.
When we wear polarizers that filter out certain frequencies from our minds, as most all of us do in some way, we loose sight that the filters of information are present and are obscuring truth that we would prefer to avoid.
Avoidance of truth, even though temporarily comforting, is dangerous. Truth sneaks up behind us. We need to be prepared to deal with it, because the time comes when we must.
In pursuit of our lifelong obligation to reconcile opposites, we are by nature required to face positive and negative, light and dark, good and bad, life and death. It seems more comfortable to avoid the dark, negative, bad, and death, until we are required to face the truth, and reconcile the opposites, both of which must exist for either to exist.
I say this preparing to comment on the negative aspects of our lives, reminding myself that the dark, negative, bad circumstances of our lives are as important as the light…
