SOCIAL MEDIA MANIPULATION FOR PROFIT — CORPORATE GREED RUN-AMUCK

For me, Facebook is the greatest offender I allude to in this title. I’ll no longer be treated as a cipher. I just permanently deleted my Facebook account following a temporary delete and return only to find the same lies and manipulation. No more returns.

Facebook, find another stooge. The public rebellion has begun. Take your billions and retire, Mark. I’m not accusing you of being a villain. You have become a slave to the monster you created. THIS MUST STOP, NOW.

I am not a fan of government regulation of “free commerce”, but our capitalistic way of life is causing great damage to us, and I see no answer but for the Federal Government to step in and save us from ourselves. (I find it hard to believe I just said that.)

Now, can we trust the Feds to do the job without doing even more harm? Based on past performance, I have grave doubts, but I see no other choice other than vast public rejection of internet “social services”, as I have just done. My departure will not be noticed, but when the rebellion grows to millions more like me, things will change.

I greatly dislike this whole mess. Many good, very smart people make their living by mostly unintentionally, yet dishonestly, manipulating the public, especially our most vulnerable citizens, our teenagers, by feeling compelled to expose themselves to the adds that bring in the billions of dollars that the corporate machines demand.
