WHERE ARE WE AND HOW DID WE GET HERE?

Has our ability to think rationally diminished? Am I in error to question the thought processes demonstrated in our recent election? Am I being arrogant to challenge the minds of a majority of our voters?

Having observed Donald Trump closely for a number of years I can summon no doubt regarding his thinking, personality, morality. It is all before us to be plainly seen.

Of importance is who he is, not how he became who he is. His development has been long and complex. I am not in position to analyze that process.

I am in position to observe and analyze who he now is. So are you.

It is good for us to review the meaning of “narcissist”. This word has been applied so many times regarding Trump it may have lost meaning for some of us.

We are wisely advised to love others as we love ourselves. This is a complex consideration. The word “love” has many definitions and expressions.

The self interest described by the term “narcissist” means excessive self concern, not pure love. Self promotion above all others, regardless of the cost to others, is implied.

Most psychologists who observe Trump and comment on him see him as pathologically narcissistic. This is an illness.
