Thank you for honesty. I am with you, Robin, and you read my thoughts. Why not take some of our most knotty problems and throw them back to the source of our concerns - AI. We conversationally speak to AI, saying, “You are the source of some serious concern. Answer this for us, (then spell out the question of immediate concern.). If we are smart enough to create functional AI, surely to God we can figure out how to stay ahead of our Frankenstein and use it to explain itself to us. If we are dumb enough to create a technology that we can not control, then it seem only fair we suffer the consequences.
Problem - too many innocent people get caught up in the back wash and are taken down without a clue what happened.
As a lawyer, i now busy myself with the question, “What laws are necessary NOW to slow this giant runaway vehicle down to human speed before it gets so far in front of its stupid creators we are doomed?)
