Thank you for this objective and thorough analysis of a pervasive and obviously important aspect of our psychological development.
Since experiencers of the abduction phenomenon seem to be psychologically healthy, functional, “average” folks I find no evidence of presumable psychopathology.
I must reread this before further comment, but at this point I’m left with an uneasy feeling you have doubts regarding the authenticity of the positive spiritual developments experienced following “digestion” of the experience. I have found no evidence of manipulative efforts by the “Others” to bring about false feelings of spiritual enhancement.
I appreciate your sincere efforts to maintain objective non judgmental attitudes, not an easy task.
My recognized bias is favorable toward a more positive interpretation of this entire, complex phenomenon - with caution.
Far more is yet to be learned than we yet think we know. This is a very important set of lessons.
