Thank you, Graham. As one “called” to see myself and the world through Jung’s eyes, having studied him for forty-five years, and as one who was through dreams mystically called to Jesus, against my will, and NOT to institutional “Christianity”, I throughly relate to your take on these two spiritual genuses. Jesus and Jung are soul brothers.
Interestingly, Jesus advised his friends to “remain faithful to the Synagogue”. I have no belief that he set out to replace Judaism with a new religion in his name, but to Reform Judaism back to its more gnostic roots of mystical knowing of God, forgetting all the laws and rules of external superficiality. His only direct comment on salvation was to ratify the Jewish scripture calling us only to “love God with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves. Do this, and YOU SHALL BE SAVED”. That’s it. Forget the “Christian” institutionally imposed theological baggage.
I’ll not preach a sermon. You get my drift.
I think you and I are joined at the hip.
