Thank you very much for your thoughts. I misled you if I indicated I don’t believe in demonic possession. I just think it is extremely rare. I think that a good bit of what is seen as possession by an outside spirit is a product of the unconscious mind. We see, through our studies of Jung, that the unconscious mind is capable of altering the material world, capable of producing material events that can be observed by other people. It’s creative power is vast. I certainly do not say all apparent possessions are produced by the unconscious mind, but that many, if not most, are. Yes, I’ve read all your articles on this subject, and they are the most thorough analysis I’ve seen. There are cases that are best described by invasion by what we call a demonic spirit, but very few.
Regarding the powers of our unconscious minds, being a well versed in Jung as you are, I know that you can easily find plenty of evidence of the unconscious creating extraordinary events in our waking consciousness. I remember one event when Dr. Jung and a lady visited a location in Europe and observed a clear painting on a wall only later to see it was gone and had been gone for many years. I see this as an occasion when their unconscious minds were in sync to observe what once was there but gone. There are many other examples of the unconscious creating observable and even material events. Jodie Helm whom you know in her archangel work has been told by the archangels that there are no demonic forces that invade us. I would not carry it quite that far. I merely caution that very convincing apparent possession cases may not be what they seem, and unconscious influences should always be considered.
I deeply appreciate you patient can polite response to my thoughts, exactly what I’d expect from you. I hold you in very high regard as one of the most thorough investigators and writers on Medium, and I am grateful for all you produce for us.
