MAGIC OF THE LIMINAL

I know that I often forget to properly attend to my constant position in the Threshold. It contains the magic that is always with me and you. I think this is a common experience for many, if not most of us. Allowing this magical place in our lives to drift by moment by moment without due attention is a sad thing. It slows our growth.

The Liminal Threshold is a place of magic, if we will but pay attention. One reason to fail to pay proper attention to our place in the Threshold is that it at first blush can appear a bit threatening. We find ourselves in a place of uncertainty, neither here nor there, but somewhere in between.

Sunrise, sunset — neither night nor day, day nor night — in between, a time of change. At the solstice, neither summer nor winter, and vice versa. A place of change; what was yesterday, and what will be tomorrow.

In the threshold, we are leaving a place with which we are familiar, entering a new place, a place of the unknown. The uncertainty of what is coming vs. degrees os familiarity what is going.

This is when magic can break upon us, unexpected, new, frightening, filled with fear and promise. Such is the nature of magic.

Magic is real. It is the changing by unknown force of ourselves and our material world.
