THE THRILL OF THE UNKNOWN
EMBRACE THE MYSTERY
I have written about change occurring. We all know this, in various ways. So it has always been, more so at some times than others. It seems always we believe the increasing changes we are experiencing anticipate “the great breakthrough”, Jesus is about to return, grand enlightenment is about to occur for all, any minute now.
For at least 2000 years this has been the case for “wester man”, probably longer. Hasn’t happened yet, but in times of significant, threatening changes, some people don’t want to take the garbage out because it may not be necessary tomorrow. As the stink rises, we decide, “Well, maybe it’s going to be awhile longer. We still have to go about our daily routines”.
We love a mystery, but are compelled to attempt to solve all mysteries. The Great Mystery has been and likely will continue to be hovering about us, demanding out attention, offering only occasional, apparent insights, making clear it will not yield to our rational, logical, left brained efforts to “understand”. This leaves us with what? We have the right brain, the doorway to clarity.
Teasingly, sometimes threateningly (just to get our attention), The Great Mystery of Life, its origin, purpose, outcome, are always lurking in the backs of our minds, ie. the unconscious mind, sometimes excitingly flirting with our consciousness. Flirtation can be fun. It can also be maddening.
Comfort comes with the remembering that none of us is in this alone. We are all together in…
