The truth of Jesus depends not on the literal historicity, but upon the mythical, mystical, eternal truth of His story. These comments are not in denial of his literal history, but are intended to convey to ALL that the understanding, forgiving, loving truth freely given, man to man, and to all, is available to ALL who so chose. It is a choice. Levi was free to refuse the invitation, as are you and I. This story of being fully human extends eternally in spiritual truth, infinitely beyond our material being and world.
