TRUTH — BITTER AND REFRESHING

We, citizens of the USA, can no longer pretend to be the greatest nation in the world. We have made the transition from imperfect democracy to the approaching fascism which accompanies dictatorship.

At first taste this truth is bitter. When consumed, it is oddly refreshing. That is the way with truth.

No more pretense. We have told the world, and ourselves, to see us as we are. I find this refreshing. The clear light of Truth shines brightly. We, as a nation, are deeply flawed, but we are not morally destitute. There are millions of our citizens who are intelligent and greatly opposed to fascistic dictatorship, which Trump has made clear is his goal.

But, here we are. Our democratic process has made Trump our President. He, once sworn in, will immediately begin infiltrating every optional position in government with servants committed to him personally, not to the nation.

There are millions of our citizens who will follow wherever he points. Just look at the election.

It is difficult for me, an optimist, to find a positive spin to put on our current position. Realism requires us to prepare for hard times. But, this is not the end, from which we are yet far away.

If our democratic ideals resurrect from this, our greatest challenge, it may seem, and may be, miraculous.

Any who read this and agree constitute a force of unknown power. Spreading your opinions, your ideals can go further than you might think. What I have said may sound very dark, but this drama has more acts.

Nothing ever overwhelms Truth. Finding clear Truth is the difficult part. Our commitment to face and live the truth is our salvation.
