WHAT IS — IS IT?
THOUGHTS ON OUR REALITY
How objective are we? Varies from person to person. How honestly do we face truth? Do we want to face truth honestly? Truth can hurt. We often are tempted to reject what appears to be truth, and replace it with our preferred fantasies, pretending they are real. When done, we are living a self-created Lie.
To live the Lie, we must filter the information that comes to us, ignoring or simply denying much of it. This is an act of cowardliness. Only the courageous face and accept the Truth. In doing so, we hurt, grow strong, and find peace.
But, what is the Truth? How do we know? People have forever searched this question. Can we ever be sure that what we see as true really is true?
To search out the answers, we must relentlessly challenge our current perceptions of truth, question our sources and our own judgement. This is hard work. It requires, as said, courage, energy, and great commitment to live the Truth, what ever it is, however it disturbs, wherever it leads.
Why would we go to this great effort? We do so only if we are committed to living an authentic life, a real life, a life with meaning, one that has a chance of being beneficial to others. If we are trapped in our egos, seeking only that which temporarily satisfies, thinking it will be permanent, seeking the easiest way of life we can find, we will learn in myriad ways how weak and meaningless we are.
